Latest Update: ADC Elects Ex-Deputy Gov Abdul as Nasarawa Chairman, Nadare as Secretary

The Nasarawa State chapter of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has unanimously elected former Deputy Governor, Chief John Michael Abdul, as its new State Chairman, while Alhaji Isah Adamu Nadare emerged as State Secretary during a peaceful consensus congress in Lafia, the state capital.

Congress Committee Chairman, Mr. Kani Jibarang, announced the results, praising the orderly process as a testament to party unity.

The new State Executive Committee features Hon. Prince Mohammed Yamusa Chindo as Deputy Chairman; Alhaji Aminu Nagogo as Treasurer; Elmahmud Hussaini Sani as Financial Secretary; Hajiya Hafsat Ibrahim Tiyel as Women Leader; and Prince Shekwoaga Musa Maikasuwa as Youth Leader.

Other key roles went to Barr. Paul Magaji Ajeh (Legal Adviser), Dr. Taimako Sunday Anyuabaga (Publicity Secretary), and Hajiya Hassana Musa Maidoki (Auditor).

At the zonal level, Comrade Idris Ojoko was elected State Vice Chairman (Zonal Chairman) for Nasarawa West Senatorial District. Alhaji Yahaya Onyapa and Mr. Joseph Massin secured the Zonal Chairmanship positions for Nasarawa South and Nasarawa North, respectively.

In his acceptance speech, Abdul expressed gratitude for members’ trust and vowed to collaborate with stakeholders on grassroots mobilization.

He promised a fair, inclusive, and transparent primary process to position ADC for victory in the 2027 general elections.

Prominent leaders, including Deputy National Chairman Senator Patricia Akwashiki, National Vice Chairman (Diaspora) Hon. Barr. Musa Elayo, Chief of Staff to the National Chairman Senator Suleiman Asonya Adokwe, and State Chief Whip Mr. Julius Miyanki Ogah, delivered goodwill messages.

They congratulated the executives and called for intensified mobilization ahead of upcoming polls.

The congress drew key stakeholders and gubernatorial aspirants such as Hon. Barr. Mohammed Hassan Abdullahi (CON), Major General Nuhu Angbazo, Alhaji Jibril Sabo Keana, Hon. Ayuba Umar, Alhaji Nasiru Soja Abdullahi, and Hon. Umar Shuaibu Kubi.
