APC HoR Primaries: Osada, Keche Others Blame Faisal, others Over Rep Ari’s Defeat in Toto LG
Some stakeholders of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Nasarawa/Toto Federal Constituency have turned against their former political ally and senatorial aspirant, Dr. Shuaib Faisal, following the defeat of House of Representatives aspirant, Hon. Mohammed Abdulmumini Ari, in the party’s direct primary election.
Hon. Ari lost the APC ticket to his rival, Hon. Mohammed Yerima Al-Basheer, during the recently conducted primary election for the Nasarawa/Toto Federal Constituency seat held on Saturday.
Speaking during a protest on Saturday evening, prominent stakeholders including Alhaji Yahaya Ibrahim Osada, Alhaji Yusuf Keche and others accused Faisal of abandoning political loyalists at a critical moment, describing his actions as betrayal.
The aggrieved supporters alleged that their political humiliation stemmed from the sacrifices and support they gave to Faisal during his gubernatorial ambition.
Osada, a renowned philanthropist while expressing disappointment over the outcome of the primary election, said he regretted not focusing fully on Ari’s third-term bid.
According to him, had he concentrated his energy on securing victory for Ari, “this nonsense called election” would not have happened.
The group further accused the Secretary to the Nasarawa State Government (SSG) of alleged hypocrisy, claiming that his “days in office are numbered.”
Our correspondent report that the SSG was looking for a safelanding for his assembly aspirant from Toto town, Murtala Amat, had no option than to play along thinking he can garnered support for his aspirant.
They also directed anger at the member representing Umaisha/Ugya constituency, describing him as “the worst representative,” while vowing to mobilise against his reelection bid.
