Save Urhobo Youth Forum Endorses Deacon Chris Iyovwaye, NDC Governorship Candidate, as Delta Governor, Peter Obi for President

The Save Urhobo Youth Forum (SUYF), a prominent grassroots sociopolitical organization in Delta State, has officially endorsed Deacon Chris Iyovwaye, the governorship candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), for the 2027 Delta State governorship election, while also throwing its weight behind former Anambra State Governor, Peter Obi, for the presidency of Nigeria.

The endorsement was announced during a press briefing organized by the Forum and addressed by its President, Ambassador Samuel Oghenegare Agadia, popularly known as “The Street Governor.” He described Deacon Chris Iyovwaye as a visionary leader, accomplished entrepreneur, and development-driven patriot whose emergence as governor would usher in a new era of prosperity, economic growth, and inclusive governance across Delta State.

Speaking before members of the Forum, youth groups, community stakeholders, and political supporters, Ambassador Agadia disclosed that the decision followed extensive consultations with youth leaders, community representatives, professionals, artisans, market groups, and grassroots mobilizers across the three senatorial districts of the state.

According to him, the Forum carefully evaluated the credentials, leadership qualities, and developmental agenda of prospective governorship aspirants before arriving at its decision to support the NDC candidate.

“Deacon Chris Iyovwaye possesses the leadership qualities, administrative competence, and economic expertise required to confront the challenges facing Delta State. His commitment to youth empowerment, job creation, wealth generation, industrial development, and sustainable economic growth makes him the right choice for the future of our state,” Agadia stated.

The SUYF President emphasized that Delta State has reached a critical stage in its development where leadership must move beyond political rhetoric and focus on practical solutions capable of improving the lives of ordinary citizens.

He noted that Iyovwaye’s track record in business, entrepreneurship, and community development demonstrates his capacity to attract investments, stimulate industrialization, create employment opportunities, and improve the standard of living of Deltans.

According to Agadia, the NDC governorship candidate represents a fresh, credible, and people-oriented alternative capable of restoring public confidence in governance while accelerating infrastructural and economic development across Delta North, Delta Central, and Delta South Senatorial Districts.

The grassroots leader also commended the National Democratic Congress (NDC) for presenting what he described as a candidate who embodies integrity, competence, accountability, and progressive leadership.

Extending the Forum’s political position beyond the governorship race, Ambassador Agadia announced the endorsement of Peter Obi for the presidency of Nigeria, describing him as a leader whose reputation for prudence, transparency, and disciplined economic management aligns with the aspirations of millions of Nigerians seeking a more prosperous and accountable nation.

He urged youths, women, professionals, artisans, traditional institutions, market associations, civil society groups, and community-based organizations throughout Delta State to unite behind the candidacies of Deacon Chris Iyovwaye and Peter Obi.

“The future of Delta State and Nigeria depends on electing leaders with practical experience in economic management, proven records of service, and a genuine commitment to the welfare of the people. We believe Deacon Chris Iyovwaye and Peter Obi represent the kind of transformational leadership our people desire,” he said.

Speaking on behalf of the Forum’s members, youth leader Comrade Great Kushion expressed confidence that an Iyovwaye administration would prioritize employment generation, human capital development, infrastructural renewal, agricultural transformation, youth inclusion, and enhanced security.

He described the NDC governorship candidate as a bridge-builder whose leadership style promotes inclusiveness, accountability, fairness, and social justice.

According to Comrade Great Kushion, the endorsement reflects the collective aspirations of thousands of young people across Delta State who are yearning for a government that listens to the people, responds effectively to their needs, and creates opportunities for sustainable prosperity.

Political observers have described the endorsement as a significant boost to the growing popularity of the NDC governorship candidate ahead of the 2027 election cycle. Analysts note that the Save Urhobo Youth Forum commands considerable influence among grassroots communities, particularly within Delta Central Senatorial District and several other parts of the state.

Party chieftains further believe that the support of Ambassador Samuel Oghenegare Agadia, widely respected for his grassroots mobilization capacity, youth advocacy, and community engagement, could strengthen Iyovwaye’s political outreach and expand his support base as preparations gradually gather momentum toward the next governorship election.
