2027: Embrace Makinde, APM, NPS Urges Nigerians
By Our Reporter
The National Publicity Secretary (NPS) of the Allied People’s Movement, Abubakar Yusuf, has called on Nigerians to support the party and its presidential candidate, Engr. Seyi Makinde, ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Yusuf made the call on Monday amid ongoing legal disputes surrounding the legitimacy of the Nigerian Democratic Coalition and the African Democratic Congress, stating that the APM remains the most viable platform for opposition parties seeking political change.
According to the APM spokesman, the party’s decision to present Engr. Seyi Makinde as its presidential candidate is aimed at sustaining power in the South while providing a credible alternative leadership platform for Nigerians.
He expressed confidence that with the support of opposition forces and Nigerians across the country, Engr. Makinde and the APM stand a strong chance of forming the next federal government.
Yusuf also expressed concern over recent judicial pronouncements affecting opposition parties, describing them as unfortunate developments for Nigeria’s democracy.
He further appealed to the people of Osun State to vote massively for the APM in the forthcoming August off-cycle governorship election.
To avoid overheating the polity, Yusuf said major stakeholders in Osun State have endorsed the APM governorship candidate, Adewale Adebayo, noting that the election would serve as a critical test run ahead of the 2027 general elections.
