Imo APC Youth League Deploys Booth Watchdogs, Ward Canvassers Across 305 Wards Ahead of 2027

The Imo State chapter of the APC Youth League has inaugurated and deployed Booth Watchdogs and Ward Canvassers across the state’s 305 political wards as part of efforts to strengthen the All Progressives Congress’ grassroots structure ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The inauguration took place during an interactive session and banquet held on Thursday at the APC State Secretariat along Okigwe Road, Owerri.

Speaking at the event, the State Coordinator of the APC Youth League, Dr. Promise Okolie, said the initiative was aimed at improving voter education, enhancing grassroots mobilisation and consolidating the party’s presence at the polling unit level.
Okolie traced the history of the Youth League, highlighting its achievements and challenges since its formation. He said he left his medical profession to pursue politics, inspired by Governor Hope Uzodimma’s leadership and driven by a commitment to greater youth participation in governance.
He reaffirmed the League’s resolve to work within the APC constitution and electoral guidelines to mobilise support for President Bola Tinubu, Governor Hope Uzodimma and other APC candidates during the 2027 elections.
The State APC Chairman, Chief Austine Onyedebelu, who inaugurated the Booth Watchdogs and Ward Canvassers, pledged continued collaboration between the party leadership and the Youth League.
He assured members that the League’s strategic plans would be presented to Governor Uzodimma for consideration and support.
The event was attended by the State APC Secretary, Hon. Onyekachi Ibezim; Commissioner for Information, Public Orientation and Strategy, Hon. Declan Emelumba; Imo State NDDC Representative, Hon. Kyrian Uchegbu; APC zonal chairmen, local government officials and representatives of the national leadership of the APC Youth League.
The programme also featured an interactive session on youth inclusion in governance and recognition of young party members, while awards were presented to Chief Onyedebelu and other party leaders for their contributions to the APC Youth League.
