The National Women Mobilisation Directorate of the All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Council has described the recent traditional honours bestowed on First Lady Senator Oluremi Tinubu in Imo and Anambra states as recognition of her impact on Nigerians.

The APC women’s directorate, in a statement by its Director of Women Mobilisation, Dr Betta Edu, congratulated the First Lady on her conferment with the titles of Oso Di Eme 1 of Imo State and Ugoeze of Anambra State.

Edu said the honours reflected the appreciation of the people and traditional institutions of the two South-East states for the First Lady’s contributions to social development, grassroots initiatives and the welfare of vulnerable citizens.

She particularly highlighted the meaning of the Oso Di Eme title, which she said described Senator Tinubu’s supportive role alongside her husband, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

“Her Excellency, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, CON, the Mother of the Nation, is indeed a worthy partner of her husband, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR,” Edu said.

She added that the First Lady had complemented the President’s efforts through programmes designed to support families and vulnerable Nigerians.

The APC women’s directorate also celebrated the conferment of the Ugoeze of Anambra State title on Senator Tinubu by HRM Igwe Chidubem Iweka.

According to Edu, the recognition underscored the First Lady’s growing acceptance and influence beyond political considerations.

Food programme targets child malnutrition

The First Lady’s Anambra visit also featured the flag-off of the National Community Food Bank Programme in the South-East.

Edu said the initiative was significant in the fight against child malnutrition, adding that the completion of the programme’s zonal rollout across the six geopolitical zones represented a major milestone.

The programme is expected to support vulnerable families and improve access to food for children facing nutritional challenges.

ICT centre inaugurated at Federal Polytechnic Oko

At the Federal Polytechnic Oko, Senator Tinubu inaugurated the RHI/TETFUND ICT Experience Centre.

She also urged students to embrace technology responsibly and take advantage of emerging opportunities, including artificial intelligence.

Another highlight of the visit was the flag-off of empowerment items provided by the Anambra State Government for 5,000 beneficiaries.

Each beneficiary is expected to receive a ₦100,000 financial grant.

Edu commended the people, governments and traditional rulers of Imo and Anambra for the recognition accorded the First Lady.

She said the honours were a reflection of the impact of Senator Tinubu’s social interventions and commitment to national development.

She also prayed for divine wisdom, strength, good health and guidance for the First Lady in her continued support for the President and the Renewed Hope Agenda.
