A prominent All Progressives Congress (APC) stalwart and grassroots mobilizer from Kogi East, Hon. Mark Okpanachi Ogah, has lauded His Excellency, Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, for what he described as a bold redefinition of governance and leadership in Kogi State.
Speaking in Idah shortly after the flag-off of the 7.2-kilometer Idah Township Road Project, Hon. Ogah commended the Governor’s strategic vision, financial discipline, and people-centered leadership, saying his administration has brought “fresh hope, renewed confidence, and responsive governance” to the people of Kogi.
“Governor Ododo has redefined governance in Kogi State. Within a short time in office, he has shown competence, courage, and compassion. Liquidating a debt of ₦98 billion, initiating critical infrastructure like the Idah Township Road, and ensuring prompt payment of salaries and leave allowances — these are not small feats. They are historic,” Ogah stated.
The ₦98 billion debt liquidation, achieved within months of assuming office, has been widely praised by financial experts and policy watchers as a bold step toward economic freedom and fiscal sustainability for Kogi State.
The flag-off of the Idah Township Road, a long-awaited project for residents of Kogi East, signals the Governor’s commitment to inclusive infrastructural development. According to Ogah, the road will open up economic opportunities and ease transportation for thousands of constituents.
Beyond infrastructure, Ogah also highlighted the Governor’s civil service reforms — particularly the payment of leave bonuses and timely salaries — as evidence of a leader who prioritizes workers’ welfare and government accountability.
