Tragedy struck at the Nigeria Police Force Headquarters in Abuja as Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Abubakar Mohammed Guri reportedly slumped and died in his office on Monday.
According to multiple sources, DCP Guri, who served in the office of the Commissioner of Police, Mobile Police (MOPOL), appeared in good health earlier in the day, exchanging pleasantries with colleagues upon arrival. However, he suddenly collapsed in his chair shortly after entering his office.
Efforts to revive him were unsuccessful, and he was confirmed dead at the Police Clinic within the Force Headquarters.
While the cause of death has not been officially disclosed, early indications suggest it may be cardiac-related.
The Nigeria Police Force is yet to issue an official statement on the sudden loss.
DCP Guri’s death has sent shockwaves through the law enforcement community, with colleagues describing him as a disciplined and dedicated officer who served with integrity.
