Manchester United have continued their strong Premier League run with a convincing 2-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur at Old Trafford, extending their winning streak to four matches under Michael Carrick.

The Premier League match began on relatively even terms, but the turning point arrived in the 29th minute when Tottenham defender Cristian Romero was shown a straight red card. From that moment, the balance of the game swung firmly in United’s favour, with the home side taking full control of possession and territory.

United made their numerical advantage count in the 38th minute as Bryan Mbeumo opened the scoring. Amad Diallo provided the assist, carving out space before setting up Mbeumo to finish and give the hosts a deserved lead.

Spurs, reduced to ten men, struggled to cope with United’s intensity and failed to muster any meaningful attacking threat, ending the match without a single corner kick compared to United’s seven.

Michael Carrick’s men maintained relentless pressure throughout the second half, pinning Tottenham deep in their own half and forcing goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario into repeated action.

Bruno Fernandes orchestrated much of United’s attacking play, linking midfield to attack while also testing the Spurs defence with several goal attempts, alongside Casemiro’s forward runs.

The decisive moment arrived in the 81st minute when Fernandes sealed the win, finishing confidently after a well-timed pass from Diogo Dalot.

Earlier, Fernandes had also created a gilt-edged opportunity for Benjamin Sesko, whose unmarked header was directed straight at the keeper, narrowly denying United a third goal.

Statistics reflected United’s dominance after the sending off, with Tottenham’s attacking threat fading almost entirely while the hosts sustained constant pressure until the final whistle.

The result lifts Manchester United to fourth place in the Premier League table, strengthening their push for UEFA Champions League qualification. Tottenham, meanwhile, remain without a league win in 2026.
