The National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Surajudeen Ajibola Basiru, paid a courtesy visit to Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, at the Kano Governor’s Lodge.
Naija News reports that the visit comes days after the high-profile defection of Governor Yusuf from the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) to the ruling APC.
According to a statement issued by Basiru after the meeting, the two leaders discussed ways of strengthening party unity.
Basiru described the meeting as an opportunity to explore ways to further consolidate the APC’s presence in Kano State.
“I paid courtesy visit to the Kano State Governor, H.E. Abba Yusuf, at the Kano Governor’s Lodge,” he wrote.
“The visit afforded us opportunity of discussing how to further strengthen and unify our party, the APC, in Kano State and further the support base of the Governor.”
