Abuja, April 12, 2025 – In a significant show of solidarity, the Arewa Forum for Peaceful Coexistence has expressed unwavering support for the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), His Excellency, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, OFR. This affirmation came during a press conference held at the Forum’s Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Office in Abuja.
Speaking at the event, the National President of the Forum, Alhaji Bature Haruna, announced that the group had unanimously passed a vote of confidence on Dr. Ganduje, praising his strategic leadership since assuming office in August 2023.
According to Haruna, under Ganduje’s stewardship, the APC recorded notable victories in four out of five recent off-cycle governorship elections—specifically in Kogi, Imo, Edo, and Ondo States. He described these achievements as a direct result of the chairman’s visionary and inclusive leadership style.
“Dr. Ganduje has reinvigorated the APC by fostering internal democracy, promoting youth and women inclusion, and ensuring harmony within the party structure,” Haruna stated. “He has built bridges across party divides and resolved longstanding issues that once threatened party unity.”
The Forum’s FCT Coordinator, Hon. Mark Okpanachi Ogah, also commended the APC leadership for its inclusive approach to governance, citing the appointment of His Excellency Nyesom Wike as FCT Minister as a bold and unifying move.
“Despite not being an APC member, Wike’s appointment reflects the party’s commitment to national integration. In less than a year, he has transformed the FCT in alignment with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu,” Ogah remarked.
The Forum emphasized that both Ganduje and Wike have demonstrated genuine patriotism and capacity for leadership that transcends political affiliations.
Concluding the briefing, the Forum pledged its “unreserved and undiluted support” for the APC and its national leadership, while calling on all Nigerians to continue fostering peace and unity across the country.
“We stand firmly with the APC and its visionary leaders. Their actions continue to inspire confidence in the future of Nigeria,” the statement read.
The event was well attended by stakeholders, media representatives, and members of the Forum committed to promoting peace and democratic values across Northern Nigeria and the nation at large.
