— Says Move Reinforces APC’s Rising Strength in the Region

Abuja, Nigeria – June 6, 2025

Hon. Mark Okpanachi Ogah, the Kogi State Coordinator of The National Agenda for Tinubu 2027 and FCT Coordinator for the Arewa Forum for Peaceful Coexistence, has described the defection of Governor Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom State to the All Progressives Congress (APC) as a “turning point” for the political dynamics of the South-South region.

Governor Eno officially announced his departure from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) earlier today, declaring his intention to align Akwa Ibom State with the federal government under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. He emphasized that his decision followed wide consultations and was aimed at ensuring continued development and federal partnership for the state.

In a swift and supportive reaction, Hon. Mark Ogah praised the governor’s move as timely and visionary.

“Governor Eno’s decision to join the APC is a strategic realignment that marks a turning point for South-South politics,” Ogah stated. “It shows that the region is beginning to see the wisdom in aligning with President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda for the benefit of their people.”

Ogah, who plays a pivotal role in the 2027 re-election drive for President Tinubu and advocates peacebuilding across the North through the Arewa Forum, said the defection sends a strong message of unity, development, and progressive thinking. He called on other state leaders in the region to take bold steps in the interest of their constituents.

“This is not just about party politics. It’s about vision, delivery, and progress. Governor Eno has demonstrated that he is a leader willing to put his people first, and the APC welcomes him with open arms,” he added.

Governor Eno reassured the people of Akwa Ibom that his administration remains focused on service delivery and inclusive governance. He emphasized that political affiliation would not derail his commitment to the state.
