The Udama Amoma Igala Club, in a show of humanitarian commitment, led a successful free medical outreach yesterday at the ancestral home of the Igalas. The event, held within the Palace of the Attah Igala in Idah, Kogi State, witnessed a large turnout of residents who received medical attention and support.
The outreach featured free consultations, treatment for ailments such as hypertension, malaria, typhoid, eye conditions, and the distribution of essential drugs and eyeglasses. Medical professionals were on ground to attend to both young and elderly beneficiaries.
Speaking on behalf of the organizers, Ajogwu Jerry Ochada, a representative of Udama Amoma Igala Club, expressed gratitude to the Attah Igala and his royal council for their warm reception and support. He also commended the club’s partners and prominent Igala personalities who made vital contributions to the success of the event.
“This outreach is our modest contribution to the well-being of our people,” Ochada said. “We are deeply encouraged by the turnout and support. It is our firm resolve to replicate this gesture in other regions to ensure access to healthcare for more of our people.”
Beneficiaries of the outreach lauded the initiative, describing it as timely and impactful, especially for those who cannot afford basic medical services.
The organizers have announced plans to expand the outreach to additional local government areas in the coming weeks.
