Preparations for the 2027 elections received fresh momentum in Kogi/Koton-Karfe Local Government Area on Thursday as APC leader in Zone B, Barr. Muhammed Tanko Musa, popularly known as Barr MT Osuku, hosted selected party stalwarts and supporters.
The meeting, held at Osuku’s residence in Lokoja, brought together representatives from various polling units across Zone B.
Some appointed officials from the ward, local government and state levels also attended the gathering.
Addressing the stakeholders, Barr. Tanko Osuku called for unity and stronger grassroots mobilisation ahead of the 2027 elections.
He said Kogi/Koton-Karfe Local Government must work towards retaining all elective positions currently held by the APC.
According to him, the local government has benefited from the support and developmental interventions of APC-led administrations and should therefore remain committed to the party’s political project.
Osuku urged APC supporters to remain focused and avoid distractions, particularly unnecessary confrontations during political campaigns.
He said peaceful political engagement would strengthen the party and enable its members to effectively communicate its programmes to voters.
