Stakeholders from Bassa Local Government Area of Kogi State have called on Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, former Governor Yahaya Adoza Bello, and leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to adopt a more inclusive and rewarding approach toward loyal party members ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The appeal was made on Friday by a community leader, Alhaji Abubakar Yunusa Gboloko, who emphasized the need for the party to recognise and reward commitment, dedication, and long-standing loyalty among its supporters.

Gboloko described the people of Bassa as steadfast members of the APC who have consistently supported the party since its inception.

He noted that such loyalty should be met with fairness and encouragement through equitable political opportunities.

He further raised concerns over what he described as the marginalisation of the Bassa people within the political structure of Kogi East, urging party leaders to address the imbalance to ensure unity and justice within the party.

Highlighting the political journey of Dr. Tim Diche, Gboloko noted that the aspirant has contested elections multiple times without success but has remained committed to the party’s collective interest, often supporting candidates from other groups within the district.

He, therefore, called on the people of Bassa to unite and rally support for Dr. Diche’s senatorial ambition, expressing confidence that he possesses the experience and resilience needed to effectively represent Kogi East Senatorial District in the National Assembly.

The stakeholders urged APC leaders at both the state and national levels to consider equity, loyalty, and grassroots support in determining candidates for the 2027 elections.
