2027: FCT ALGON Chair wants next Abuja south Reps from Kwali

The Chairman of the FCT chapter of the Association of Local Government of Nigeria (ALGON) Hon Danladi Chiya has advocated the need for Kwali Area Council to produce the next house of representatives member for Abuja south federal constituency in the 2027 general elections.

Chiya, who is also the incumbent chairman of Kwali area council, made the call during the inauguration of the new executives council’s chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Tuesday.

He said only Kwali Area Council which falls under Abuja south federal constituency has not produced house of representatives member since the inception of democracy in 1999.

He said Abaji, Gwagwalada and Kuje area councils has produced house of representatives members including senator with the exception of Kwali Area Council.

According to him, Kwali Area Council has been under control of the defunct ANPP, which he said until it was merged and metamorphose into APC but has not produced house of representatives member.

“And Kwali Area Council has been has been part of the merger of ANPP with APC but has not produced house of representatives member while Abaji, Gwagwalada and Kuje area councils has produced house of representatives and senator,”he said.

He, therefore, called on the national leadership of the APC to consider allowing Kwali Area Council to produce the next house of representatives in 2027 election in the interest fairness, equity and justice.

The national chairman of the APC, Prof. Nantawe Yiltiwada represented by the north central zonal secretary of the APC Hon Yakubu Adamu, while inaugurating the new executives stressed on need for them to be dedicated in discharge of their responsibilities.

He assured the council chairman and other stakeholders of the party at the event that he would inform the national the secretariat of the party on the call to for Kwali Area Council to produce the next house of representatives for Abuja south in 2027 election.

On his part, the new FCT APC chairman Hon Ishaku Tanko Yamawo, congratulated the newly inaugurated executives and urged to ensure they leave up to the expectation in order to ensure APC continue to wax stronger.

He also used occasion to inform members of the party to ensure they get registered in ongoing membership E-registration exercise of the party.

The Kwali APC chapter chairman, Ibrahim Adamu, while speaking on behalf of other inaugurated executives, appreciated the party stakeholders for the confidence repose on them and promised to discourage their duties without compromise.
