Kogi East Senate 2027: Dr. Tim Diche Obtains APC Nomination Forms, Pledges Quality Representation

….Says his ambition is driven by the hopes and yearnings of the Igala and Bassa populace

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Kogi East Senatorial aspirant, Dr. Tim Diche, has officially obtained the party’s Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Dr. Diche secured the forms, valued at ₦20 million, on Monday, April 28, 2026, at the APC National Secretariat in Abuja, signalling his formal entry into the race for the Kogi East Senatorial seat.

Describing the development as both a personal milestone and a reflection of the collective aspirations of the people, the aspirant said his ambition is driven by the hopes and yearnings of the Igala and Bassa communities.

“This step is not just about me; it represents the shared vision of our people for a better and more prosperous Kogi East,” he stated.

Dr. Diche expressed appreciation to market men and women, youths, elders, professionals, and traditional rulers across the district for their support, prayers, and belief in his candidacy, noting that the movement is inclusive and people-driven.

He said his decision to contest at this time is guided by a clear commitment to provide visionary, accountable, and people-oriented leadership, while addressing developmental challenges in the district.

According to him, despite the abundant human and natural resources in Kogi East, the region has continued to grapple with underperformance and inefficiencies, which he pledged to tackle through transparency, inclusiveness, and sustainable development policies.

The aspirant outlined priority areas of focus to include education, healthcare, infrastructure development, youth empowerment, and job creation. He also promised to foster strong collaboration with the Federal Government to attract meaningful development to the district.

Dr. Diche called on stakeholders and residents of Kogi East to set aside differences and unite in pursuit of a common goal of progress and development.

“With unity, determination, and faith, we can restore hope, inspire growth, and build a Kogi East that works for everyone,” he said.

Meanwhile, members of the Maaji Movement across the nine local government areas of the senatorial district commended Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, for appointing Dr. Diche as Technical Adviser on Kogi East Stakeholders Engagement.

They also acknowledged the role played by former Governor Yahaya Adoza Bello, under whose administration Dr. Diche served as Commissioner for Agriculture and Natural Resources in Kogi State.
