The Delta State Bureau for Orientation and Communications has commended His Imperial Majesty, Ogiame Atuwatse III, CFR, for what it described as a remarkable cultural renaissance during his five years as Olu of Warri.
The Bureau said the monarch had demonstrated that the traditional institution could serve as both custodian of history and a catalyst for contemporary development.
In a goodwill message signed by the Bureau’s Director-General, Dr. Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe, Esq., the organisation said Ogiame Atuwatse III had brought ancestral wisdom, intellectual depth and modern leadership to the Warri throne.

According to the Bureau, the Olu’s reign has strengthened the consciousness of the Itsekiri people about their history, identity and cultural heritage.
It said His Majesty’s efforts to preserve and promote Itsekiri culture had ensured that the traditions of the Iwere people continued to maintain relevance in an increasingly globalised society.
The Bureau also praised the monarch for his efforts to unite Itsekiris within Nigeria and across the diaspora.
It said the renewed emphasis on cultural consciousness had strengthened the pride of a people whose history is deeply connected with the historical development of Delta State and Nigeria.
Beyond culture, the Bureau said the Olu’s reign had also recorded notable attention to education, healthcare, entrepreneurship, human capital development and economic empowerment.
The organisation specifically cited the Royal Iwere Foundation and Iwere Trust Fund as examples of initiatives reflecting the monarch’s commitment to improving the welfare of his people.
It described Ogiame Atuwatse III as a monarch who has successfully connected heritage with development.
The Bureau said the fifth anniversary of his reign therefore offered an opportunity not only to celebrate the traditional institution but also to recognise the importance of cultural identity in building a united and prosperous society.
It congratulated the Olu of Warri and prayed that his reign would continue to produce greater achievements for the Warri Kingdom and the Itsekiri Nation.
The Bureau also extended its goodwill to the people of the Warri Kingdom and well-wishers around the world as they celebrate the fifth anniversary of the monarch’s reign.
