The First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, is set to convene a national summit of women stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council in Abuja as preparations intensify for the 2027 presidential election.
The summit, scheduled for Monday, October 5, 2026, is expected to attract APC women leaders and stakeholders from across Nigeria.
The gathering comes as the APC Presidential Campaign Council’s Women Mobilisation Directorate intensifies its grassroots campaign for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Vice-President Kashim Shettima.

Director of the Women Mobilisation Directorate, Dr Betta Edu, said the group was targeting 40 million women votes for the Tinubu-Shettima ticket.
Edu, who spoke with journalists on Saturday, said the summit would help consolidate the women’s mobilisation structure while providing a platform for stakeholders to strengthen their grassroots networks.
She commended the First Lady for bringing women stakeholders together and described the summit as an opportunity to build greater unity among APC women across the country.
“When we put our strength together and unite behind our President and his wife, victory is certain,” she said.
The former minister also disclosed that hundreds of women would benefit from empowerment initiatives associated with the gathering.
She commended state governors and their wives for supporting the participation of women stakeholders, adding that several delegates had already arrived in Abuja.

According to her, the mobilisation exercise goes beyond the summit, with APC women continuing community engagements and door-to-door campaigns across the country.
The directorate, she said, has a grassroots structure covering 176,846 communities nationwide.
Edu described the mobilisation exercise as a “100-day sprint”, stressing that the women’s directorate would sustain its activities until the 2027 election.
“It is a 100-day sprint, and we will not relent until victory is achieved for President Tinubu. Our strength is in our numbers,” she said.
The summit is expected to provide an avenue for the APC women structure to review its mobilisation strategy and strengthen coordination ahead of the 2027 campaign season.
