Nasarawa State is bracing for what many political analysts describe as its toughest electoral cycle in history, with candidates across various parties aligning and realigning strategically to clinch tickets ahead of the 2027 gubernatorial election.
Amid this fierce contest, Hon. Arc. Mohammed Ja’afar Ibrahim, a renowned politician from Shafa Abakpa (Sofio) and former House of Representatives member for Nasarawa/Toto Federal Constituency under the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), has emerged at the centre stage, overshadowing other so-called “traditional candidates” who long harboured illusions of party ownership spanning decades.
Feelers from within the state’s political circles indicate a strong consensus that only Arc. Mohammed Ja’afar Ibrahim possesses the requisite capacity, extensive political connections, and a solid base of organic supporters to clinch victory in the governorship race, revive the PDP’s waning spirit, and restore its lost glory as exemplified during the era of the late Governor Aliyu Akwe Doma of blessed memory and his predecessor, Governor Abdullahi Adamu.
It is indeed regrettable that the PDP has in the past indulged in political gambling by fielding premature, incompetent, inexperienced, and politically feeble candidates whose track records betray a penchant for entrepreneurial and transactional politics, a reality starkly evident in the last gubernatorial election, where such choices not only squandered votes but also imperilled the electorate through needless post-election demonstrations that failed to salvage the situation.
In response to the clarion call from millions of Nasarawa electorates, Arc. Mohammed Ja’afar Ibrahim has stepped forward to contest, secure victory, and rescue the state via the PDP platform, a move that guarantees triumph for the party.

This writer personally appeals to all stakeholders, regardless of their varied political affiliations, to rally behind the man destined to become Nasarawa State’s next executive governor by 2027.
