Former Speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi, has advised newly married couples to protect their homes from unnecessary third-party interference and embrace mutual understanding as the foundation of a lasting marriage.
Balarabe Abdullahi gave the advice on Saturday in Kwandare, Lafia Local Government Area of Nasarawa State, during the marriage ceremony of Salisu Musa Galadima and Sa’adatu Ibrahim Lawal.
Representing the interest of the groom’s father at the ceremony, the former Speaker urged the couple to communicate openly, respect each other’s opinions and resolve disagreements through understanding rather than allowing external influences to disrupt their relationship.
He stressed the importance of adhering to the ethics of marriage, noting that peace in the home requires sincerity, patience, trust and a shared commitment to the wellbeing of both partners.
Balarabe Abdullahi, who was accompanied by Hon. Muhammed Ibrahim Alkali, Special Adviser to Governor Abdullahi Sule on Legislative Liaison, prayed for God’s blessings upon the couple and encouraged them to work together in building a peaceful home.
The marriage was solemnised by the Chief Imam of Kwandare Central Mosque, Malam Salihu Akwai, following the presentation of medical certificates of fitness and payment of ₦450,000 as bride price.
