Federal University Lokoja Announces Commencement of 2026/2027 Admission Screening Exercise, Sets 160 UTME Cut-Off Mark
The management of Federal University Lokoja (FUL) has announced the commencement of its Post-Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (Post-UTME) screening exercise for the 2026/2027 academic session, inviting suitably qualified candidates to participate in the admission process.
According to a statement issued by the university, the online screening portal will officially open on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, for all candidates who applied for admission through the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) under both the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and Direct Entry (DE) categories.
The institution urged prospective students to carefully study the admission guidelines and ensure strict compliance with the registration requirements to facilitate a smooth and successful screening process.
Eligibility Requirements:
The university outlined specific conditions that applicants must meet before they can participate in the screening exercise.
To be eligible, candidates must have selected Federal University Lokoja as their first-choice institution during the 2026 UTME registration process.
In addition, UTME applicants are required to have scored a minimum of 160 marks in the 2026 UTME conducted by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board.
For Direct Entry candidates, the university stated that applicants must have processed their admissions through JAMB and possess the requisite qualifications for admission into their preferred programmes.
The institution also emphasized that candidates must be at least 16 years old on or before September 30, 2026, in line with the admission regulations governing tertiary institutions in Nigeria.
Online Screening Process:
The university directed all eligible candidates, including both UTME and Direct Entry applicants, to visit the institution’s Post-UTME Screening Portal once it becomes active and complete the online registration process within the stipulated period.
Prospective students were advised to ensure that all information supplied during registration is accurate and consistent with the details submitted to JAMB, as discrepancies may affect their admission prospects.
Candidates are also expected to upload the required credentials and follow all instructions provided on the portal to avoid errors that could delay or invalidate their applications.
Commitment to Transparent Admission Process:
The commencement of the screening exercise marks the beginning of the university’s admission process for the new academic session and is expected to attract thousands of applicants seeking placement into various undergraduate programmes offered by the institution.
The management assured applicants of a transparent, merit-based, and technology-driven screening process designed to ensure fairness and equal opportunity for all qualified candidates.
Prospective students and parents have been advised to regularly monitor the university’s official communication channels for updates regarding screening procedures, deadlines, and admission requirements.
Federal University Lokoja remains one of Nigeria’s rapidly growing federal universities, attracting candidates from across the country due to its expanding academic programmes, research initiatives, and commitment to quality higher education.
