IGP Adamu’s Coordinator Confirms Councillors Nominated Sacked Ward Coordinators in Nasarawa LG

Hon. Dauda Musa Eyigege, the Nasarawa Local Government Coordinator for the Nasarawa State governorship aspirant and former Inspector General of Police (IGP), Mohammed Abubakar Adamu, has issued an official statement backing comments made by the Special Assistant to the Executive Chairman of Nasarawa Local Government, Comrade Audu A. Isah, popularly known as Young Jagaban.
Eyigege in an official statement issued on Monday, followed a publication by the Chairman, House Committee on Information of the Nasarawa Local Government Legislative Arm and Councillor representing Guto/Aisa Ward, Hon. Abdullahi O. Muhammed, who condemned and reportedly queried Young Jagaban over his recent remarks concerning some former coordinators of IGP Adamu.
According to Young Jagaban, several coordinators who were later dismissed due to lack of trust had originally been nominated by ward councillors.
He further described the situation as a setback for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Nasarawa Local Government and urged the party leadership to remain vigilant.
Reacting to the development, Eyigege stated that Young Jagaban’s claims were “correct and factual.”
He explained that before the APC governorship primaries, when former IGP Mohammed Abubakar Adamu was still a member of the APC, he personally led all councillors in Nasarawa Local Government to a meeting with the governorship aspirant.
According to him, during the meeting, Adamu instructed each councillor to nominate a coordinator from his or her ward, a directive which was duly communicated and implemented.

Eyigege listed the nominations as follows:
Hon. Kaika Aminu Egah, Councillor representing Odeni-Gida Ward, nominated Mr. Adaosu Osayi.
Hon. Abdullahi Adamu Edego, Councillor representing Odeni-Magaji Ward, nominated Comrade Usman Ibrahim Ibaku.
Hon. Aminu Sani, Councillor representing Onda-Kana-Apawu Ward, nominated Mr. Ayuba.
Hon. Ahmed Uzairu, Councillor representing Nasarawa Central Ward, nominated Mr. Ameji.
Hon. Ibrahim Bako Haruna, Councillor representing Nasarawa Main Town Ward, nominated Mr. Gambo.
Hon. Abubakar Yusuf Alkali, Councillor representing Loko Ward, nominated Mr. Muhammad Shoe Shiner.
Hon. Adamu A. Maude, Councillor representing Laminga Ward, nominated Mr. Bawa.
Eyigege further clarified that Young Jagaban’s statement was not intended to undermine or disrespect the legislative responsibilities of the Nasarawa Local Government Legislative Arm.
Rather, he said, the comments were aimed at urging APC leaders in the local government to remain cautious and avoid re-admitting individuals who had previously been removed from their positions over issues of trust.
According to him, the affected coordinators were dismissed because, while serving as coordinators for IGP Mohammed Abubakar Adamu under the Social Democratic Party (SDP), they allegedly continued to participate actively in APC activities, an action he described as dual political loyalty and a breach of trust.
Eyigege maintained that the decision to remove them was necessary to preserve discipline and loyalty within the political structure.
