Kogi DG SWAGA/NCA, Prince Ojotule Hails First Lady’s Visit, Says Programmes Will Benefit Women, Vulnerable Groups

The Kogi State Coordinator of the South West Agenda for Asiwaju/North Central Alliance (SWAGA/NCA), Prince Michael Ojotule, has described the official visit of Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, to Kogi State as a significant opportunity to advance women empowerment, food security and socio-economic development in the state.

Ojotule joined Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, senior government officials, leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC), and other dignitaries in welcoming the First Lady to Lokoja on Saturday for her one-day working visit.

Senator Tinubu is in Kogi State to flag off the National Community Food Bank Programme for the North Central region, an intervention under the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI) aimed at tackling hunger, improving nutrition and strengthening food security across the country.

Speaking shortly after receiving the First Lady, Ojotule, who is also the South-South Coordinator of the Ododo/Oyibo Support Structure, said the visit would bring tangible benefits to Kogi residents, especially women and other vulnerable groups.

He also commended Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for what he described as his commitment to good governance, security and the delivery of development projects across the state.

“Today, I joined Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo and other top government officials in receiving Her Excellency, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, to Lokoja for the flag-off of the National Community Food Bank Programme for the North Central region,” Ojotule said.

According to him, the First Lady will also launch a women’s financial empowerment programme designed to support vulnerable women with grants and economic opportunities to improve their livelihoods.

He added that Senator Tinubu is expected to inaugurate the newly completed Kogi State Treasury House, a landmark project aimed at strengthening fiscal management and enhancing public financial administration in the state.

Ojotule expressed optimism that the First Lady’s visit would further strengthen collaboration between the Federal Government and Kogi State in delivering programmes that directly improve the welfare and living standards of the people.
