Oborevwori’s 13th-Month Salary Will Boost Productivity, Reward Workers’ Sacrifice — General Oloye

The Special Assistant to the Delta State Governor on Security, Hon. Clement Ofovwi, popularly known as General Oloye, has applauded Governor Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori for approving a 13th-month salary for Delta State civil servants, describing the move as a bold reward for hard work that will spur greater productivity across the public service.
General Oloye said the welfare package underscores Governor Oborevwori’s commitment to workers’ wellbeing and reflects an administration that recognizes the critical role of civil servants in driving governance and sustainable development in Delta State.
In a statement made available to journalists, the governor’s aide described the approval of the extra salary as a landmark decision that highlights Oborevwori’s compassionate and worker-friendly leadership.
According to him, rewarding hardworking civil servants remains one of the most effective ways to boost morale, enhance efficiency, and strengthen confidence in government.
He noted that the 13th-month salary goes beyond financial relief, describing it as a powerful symbol of appreciation for over 60,000 civil servants whose daily efforts keep government institutions running effectively across the state.
General Oloye said Governor Oborevwori has continued to distinguish himself as a leader who prioritizes workers’ welfare, adding that his administration has consistently rolled out people-centred policies aimed at improving the living standards of civil servants, pensioners, youths, women, and vulnerable citizens.
He stressed that economic empowerment and workers’ welfare remain vital pillars for peace, social stability, and effective governance.
“Governor Sheriff Oborevwori has once again shown why he is widely regarded as a compassionate and people-oriented leader. The approval of a 13th-month salary is a fitting reward for the sacrifices, commitment, and hard work of our dedicated civil servants,” he said.

General Oloye added that a government that values its workforce is laying the foundation for sustainable progress, noting that improved worker motivation naturally translates to better service delivery and stronger industrial harmony.
He further stated that the governor’s MORE Agenda continues to place people at the centre of governance through strategic investments in welfare, infrastructure, security, and human capital development.
The security aide also commended Governor Oborevwori for initiatives in affordable housing, youth empowerment, economic expansion, and peace-building efforts across the state.
