Senator Karimi’s Media Team Slams APC Kabba/Bunu ‘Vote of No Confidence’ As paid distraction, unveil massive grassroots investments

….Says they’re naira-motivated critics and apostles of bad governance merely to appease paymasters amid obvious facts

The Media Team of Distinguished Senator Sunday Steve Karimi, has drawn attention to a communique purportedly issued by leaders, stakeholders, executives, and party faithfuls of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kabba/Bunu Local Government Area, including its 15 wards, in which they allegedly passed a vote of no confidence on the senator.

The team categorically states from the outset that the promoters of this communique were paid agents hired to distract the distinguished senator, a strong and respected APC member at local, state, and national levels, who remains fully committed to delivering President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda to the grassroots.

In addition to sponsoring bills and legislative instruments with direct impact on constituents, including these so-called ‘APC Kabba stakeholders’ and their sponsors, Senator Karimi has demonstrated unwavering dedication through tangible projects such as handsome donations towards the election of all serving LGA chairmen and councillors across Kogi State in the last local government elections; a generous contribution of N5 million cash alongside a solar-powered motorized borehole with fetching pump to the Kabba/Bunu LGA chairman’s pet project for constructing a local security base about a year ago, showcasing synergy with local government apparatus; and the construction of three classroom blocks each at St. Barnabas College Kabba, Community Secondary School Odo Ape, and a block comprising three classes, a principal’s office, and separate student restrooms at Government Secondary School Iluke-Bunu, all evenly distributed across major subdivisions of Kabba/Bunu LGA after consultations with party stalwarts and traditional rulers, with one project even handled by a local APC chieftain.

Further underscoring the senator’s inclusive representation, in 2024, Distinguished Senator Karimi disbursed N15 million, N100,000 each to 150 students from Kabba/Bunu LGA, through a local sub-committee that included APC stalwarts like Hon. Bode Adeyemi, who actively participated in screening, selection, and recommendations, though the committee was later disbanded upon discovering some members’ attempts to frustrate the programme via bribes and kickbacks from beneficiaries; yet, despite these detractors, it ended as a resounding success.

The 2025 edition, disbursed in early 2026 for more prudent scrutiny, has already benefited at least 200 students across all 15 wards with N100,000 bursaries each via the Senator Karimi Foundation in partnership with Mr. President’s Renewed Hope (Tinubu Support Organisation), directly countering baseless allegations of non-inclusion by the communique’s proponents, who serve as apostles of bad governance merely to appease paymasters amid obvious facts.

In Kabba/Bunu, the senator singlehandedly self-financed the construction of the Pakuta Bridge linking Kiri and other Bunu communities, previously an eyesore abandoned by SETRACO Limited due to funding issues, spending over N23 million while employing local skills and labour from beneficiary communities after heeding their yearnings; he also passionately reintroduced the Bill for a Federal University of Agriculture in Kabba, with major traditional rulers and stakeholders present at its consideration, now awaiting presidential assent to boost economic output and prosperity for all indigenes, including these naira-motivated critics.

The senator’s interventions extend to donating transformers to Kabba/Bunu communities, currently held by traditional rulers for installation as decided unanimously by LGA Chairman Barrister Zacchaeus Dare, State Security Adviser Commodore Jerry Omodara (rtd), Education Commissioner Hon. Wemi Jones, and other APC stakeholders; within his first year, he sank and installed no fewer than 15 solar-powered motorized boreholes, one per ward across the LGA with inputs from party stakeholders and community leaders, mirroring efforts in all seven LGAs of the district; he also installed solar streetlights in various communities and wards with local party structure involvement. Despite being entitled to only five statutory legislative aides for seven LGAs, Senator Karimi influenced an additional appointment, Hon. Tunde Akanmidu from Kabba/Bunu, as aide to Deputy Senate President Senator Barau Jibrin, following wide consultations including nomination by the Obaro of Kabba, ensuring no Kogi West LGA lacks such representation either directly with him or Senate presiding officers, debunking the paid propagandists’ false claim of zero aides from Kabba/Bunu.

From the foregoing, the Media Team asks: what is the iniquity of Senator Sunday Steve Karimi?

The team is aware his public pronouncement at Kabba Day 2025 merely echoed the average Kogi West citizen’s call for the senatorial district to occupy Lugard House after decades of exclusion from state power-sharing, yet slaves who prefer chains to freedom have become disposable tools for paymasters to silence this golden voice of quality representation.

Despite Nigeria’s public finance challenges, a senator delivering such for one LGA alone deserves re-election; he remains unperturbed by this paid publication and planned vote of no confidence from disgruntled politicians desperate for livelihood at constituents’ expense.

The team admonishes genuine APC supporters and faithful, the true majority, to remain steadfast in the quest for a more prosperous senatorial district.
