Stakeholders Hail Isimbabi as 500-Seater Stadium Gets Approval, Renew Call for Leadership College in Toto

Stakeholders in Toto Local Government Area of Nasarawa State have applauded the member representing Toto/Gadabuke Constituency in the State House of Assembly, Hon. Mohammed Garba Isimbabi, for what they described as purposeful representation following the state government’s approval of a 500-seater multi-purpose sports stadium for the area.
The project, which was facilitated by Hon. Isimbabi, has sparked widespread excitement among residents, who described it as a major milestone in the development of Toto Local Government.
While celebrating the approval, the stakeholders appealed to Governor Abdullahi Sule to also expedite action on the establishment of the proposed Nasarawa State College of Leadership and Entrepreneurship Centre in Toto, another initiative championed by the lawmaker.
They noted that beyond public announcements, the stadium project had already passed critical administrative stages and was now awaiting implementation.
According to them, available records indicate that the project secured a Certificate of No Objection nearly two years ago and now requires only the governor’s final approval to enable the Office of the Accountant General release funds for construction to commence.
The stakeholders recalled that the Engr. A.A. Sule Legacy 500-Seater Multi-Purpose Mini Sports Stadium was first unveiled in 2024 following a strategic meeting involving TRT Nigeria Limited at the Nasarawa State House of Assembly.
At the time, Hon. Isimbabi disclosed that Governor Sule had approved the siting of the facility in Toto, while the Speaker of the House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Danladi Jatau, pledged the Assembly’s support for its speedy execution.
The then Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Hon. Jafaru Ango, also confirmed that Toto was among the five local government areas selected to benefit from the state’s mini stadium programme.
The stakeholders stressed that the people of Toto were no longer seeking fresh promises but the execution of projects that had already received the necessary approvals and planning.
They urged the state government to move both the stadium and the proposed College of Leadership and Entrepreneurship from the planning stage to physical implementation, saying the projects would significantly boost youth development, sports, education, and economic activities in the area.
