STOP MISLEADING PRESIDENT TINUBU: APC GROUP WARNS ODODO, LEKE ABEJIDE

A group of stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC), operating under the banner of the Concerned APC Leaders, has cautioned Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo, and the member representing Yagba Federal Constituency, Leke Abejide, against what it described as attempts to mislead President Bola Ahmed Tinubu regarding the selection of candidates for the 2027 National Assembly elections.

The group made its position known in a statement issued in Lokoja by its Secretary, Hon. Mohammed Tijani.

According to the statement, the stakeholders accused both Governor Ododo and Hon. Abejide of allegedly prioritizing personal interests over the collective interests of the APC in Kogi State.

The statement further alleged that there had been several attempts by the duo to influence the President’s perception of issues surrounding prospective APC candidates for the 2027 National Assembly elections in the state.

According to the group, such alleged efforts included the use of misleading information and purported social media campaigns aimed at shaping opinions on the party’s electoral prospects.

“For the avoidance of doubt, candidates already identified to fly the party’s flag in the 2027 National Assembly elections are grassroots politicians with proven records of service, achievements, and the capacity to mobilize support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the APC,” the statement read.

The stakeholders maintained that any attempt to alter the existing political arrangements through what they described as deceptive tactics could create unnecessary divisions within the party and weaken its electoral strength ahead of the 2027 general elections.

They therefore appealed to President Tinubu to carefully evaluate information presented to him concerning APC affairs in Kogi State and avoid actions that could trigger internal disputes within the party.

The group warned that unresolved disagreements and perceived imposition of candidates could expose the APC to challenges from opposition parties and undermine efforts to maintain party unity in the state.

The statement concluded with a call on party leaders and stakeholders to place the collective interest of the APC above personal ambitions as preparations for the 2027 elections gather momentum.
