Chelsea attacker Tyrique George has revealed that he is eligible to represent both Nigeria and Ghana at the international level, shedding light on his heritage while speaking about his career, influences and life beyond football.

Tyrique George, 19, who joined Everton on loan from Chelsea on the January transfer deadline day for the remainder of the season, made the disclosure while introducing himself on Everton’s official media platform.

Opening up about his background, George said, “I’m Tyrique George and these are five things about me. I was born in Camden, London, and my mom is Ghanaian, and my dad is Nigerian.”

His statement confirms that he is eligible to play for Nigeria’s Super Eagles, Ghana’s Black Stars and England’s Three Lions, having already represented England at the youth level.

George also highlighted his flexibility in attack, describing himself as a multi-positional forward capable of operating across the frontline. Speaking on his playing style, he explained, “I can play on both feet, either wing, attack midfield or up front.”

The young winger credited Neymar and Jadon Sancho as key inspirations while growing up, naming them as his favourite players and role models in shaping his approach to the game.

Reflecting on his club career so far, George spoke about his experience at Chelsea and the high level of competition he has already encountered at a young age. He said, “At Chelsea, I played in the Champions League, Conference League and the Club World Cup.”

On the international stage, George confirmed his long-standing involvement with England’s youth setup, revealing that he has progressed through multiple age groups. “I started playing for England since under 15s all the way to now under 21s,” he added.

Despite his growing profile in professional football, the teenager also offered a glimpse into his personal life away from the pitch. Sharing his interests outside the sport, he noted that “away from football, I like to watch movies and spend time with my family.”
