Yusuf Abdullahi Joins Danish Club Aarhus Fremad From Sporting Lagos

February 10, 20262 Mins Read

Nigerian youngster Yusuf Abdullahi has completed a permanent move to Danish side Aarhus Fremad, ending his time with Sporting Lagos after a steady rise through the club’s ranks.

Yusuf Abdullahi, 18, spent three years at Sporting Lagos, progressing from the academy into the senior team. His development saw him feature in several youth tournaments both within Nigeria and abroad, marking him as one of the club’s most promising prospects.

Sporting Lagos confirmed the transfer in a brief announcement on social media, stating: “We’re pleased to announce the transfer of Yusuf Abdullahi to Danish side, Aarhus Fremad.”

Abdullahi made history at the club by scoring on his competitive debut in the Nigeria National League (NNL), becoming the first academy graduate to find the net on their first official appearance. This season, he recorded two assists in four matches.

Meanwhile, Super Eagles goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali is drawing strong interest from Simba SC in Tanzania and Morocco’s Raja Casablanca following his departure from South African side Chippa United.

The 29-year-old recently terminated his contract with the Chilli Boys at his own request, bringing an end to four years with the club. He is now in the market for a new challenge as several African heavyweights monitor his situation.

Nwabali has built a solid reputation as one of the continent’s standout goalkeepers, a status reinforced by his impressive performances for Nigeria at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.
