…Unveils Grassroots Mobilisation Structure Across Delta’s 25 LGAs
The Global Initiative Support Group (GISG) for Sheriff 2027 has inaugurated its coordinators and canvassers across the 25 local government areas of Delta State as part of efforts to mobilise grassroots support for President Bola Tinubu, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and other All Progressives Congress (APC) candidates ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The inauguration ceremony, held in Ughelli on Friday, attracted members of the group from across the state, APC leaders, political stakeholders, women and youth representatives, as well as members of its diaspora chapter.
Performing the inauguration on behalf of the Delta State APC Chairman, Chief Solomon Arenyeka, the Delta South Senatorial Chairman, Chief Emmanuel Amgbaduba, commended the group’s Convener, Olorogun Festus Ahon, its Chairman, Chief Josiah Ntekume, and other members for establishing a mobilisation structure across the state and among Deltans in the diaspora.

Amgbaduba described the group’s organisational spread across the 25 local government areas as a significant step towards building a statewide political mobilisation network.
He attributed the group’s formation to what he described as the performance of Governor Oborevwori’s administration, citing developments in infrastructure, healthcare, education and other critical sectors.
According to him, several communities that previously experienced difficulties accessing their areas are now witnessing road construction and other infrastructure projects, while investments in public institutions and social infrastructure reflect the administration’s development priorities.
He also highlighted the approval of a 13th-month salary for Delta State civil servants, describing it as an indication of the administration’s attention to workers’ welfare.
The APC chieftain urged the newly inaugurated coordinators and canvassers to extend their mobilisation activities beyond the governor’s re-election bid to include President Tinubu, senators, members of the House
of Representatives and the Delta State House of Assembly.
He charged members at the senatorial, local government, ward and polling-unit levels to return to their respective communities, engage residents and strengthen the party’s grassroots structures ahead of the elections.
Amgbaduba further urged members not to be distracted by opposition activities but to remain focused on their assigned responsibilities.
Speaking at the ceremony, the group’s Convener and Chief Press Secretary to Governor Oborevwori, Olorogun Festus Ahon, said GISG was established by his friends across the globe to mobilise support for the governor’s re-election and the success of other APC candidates in 2027.
Ahon described the group’s assignment as a grassroots-driven initiative, urging the newly inaugurated officials to take their mobilisation activities to communities through door-to-door campaigns and direct engagement with voters.
He challenged members to move beyond political meetings and establish meaningful contact with residents across wards and polling units.
The Chief Press Secretary reiterated the group’s commitment to mobilising support for Tinubu, Oborevwori and other APC candidates, noting that the party was working towards a five-over-five victory in the 2027 general elections.
He also referenced projects and policies of the Oborevwori administration in education, healthcare, infrastructure and other sectors as issues the group intended to highlight during its engagements with residents.
Earlier, the Chairman of GISG, Chief Josiah Ntekume, described the inauguration as an important milestone in the group’s efforts to establish a coordinated mobilisation network across Delta State.
Ntekume urged the newly inaugurated coordinators and canvassers to demonstrate unity, commitment and dedication in taking the group’s message to every ward and polling unit.
He acknowledged the contributions of party leaders, members and supporters, particularly those in the diaspora, towards building the organisation.
He expressed optimism that the inauguration would strengthen the group’s organisational capacity and improve coordination of its activities across the state.
Dignitaries at the event included the APC State Organising Secretary, Hon. Emmanuel Egbabor; Hon. Abel Oshevire; Comrade Ologe Elijah; and the Executive Assistant to the Governor on Media, Dr Nelson Egware, alongside other party leaders and political stakeholders.
