The Niger Delta APC Progressive Movement for Renewed Hope Initiative has officially endorsed the re-election bid of Senator Ede Dafinone, who represents Delta Central Senatorial District, ahead of the 2027 general elections, citing his outstanding performance, effective representation, and remarkable legislative accomplishments since assuming office.
The endorsement was announced by General John Abugor, Delta Central Chairman of the group, Delta State Vice Chairman, and a prominent national officer of the organization, during a stakeholders’ meeting held on June 1, 2026, in Otor-Udu, the headquarters of Udu Local Government Area of Delta State.
Addressing party faithful and stakeholders, General Abugor described Senator Dafinone as a focused, accessible, and result-oriented leader whose contributions to the development of Delta Central have earned him widespread admiration and support across the senatorial district.
According to him, the senator’s impressive record of service remains the strongest justification for his return to the National Assembly in 2027.
“Senator Ede Dafinone has performed exceptionally well. His impressive dossier of achievements speaks for itself. We do not need to manufacture reasons to support him because the evidence is visible across the district.
From legislative interventions to constituency empowerment programmes and strategic engagement with federal agencies, he has remained committed to delivering the dividends of democracy to our people,” Abugor stated.
He noted that Senator Dafinone has consistently demonstrated competence, integrity, and legislative effectiveness, qualities that have endeared him to constituents across the eight local government areas of Delta Central Senatorial District.
The APC stalwart further emphasized that the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu requires experienced legislators who possess a deep understanding of governance, policy formulation, and effective representation.
He argued that Senator Dafinone belongs to that category of leaders whose professional expertise and legislative experience have added value to national discourse and policymaking.
Political observers have often highlighted Dafinone’s contributions on the floor of the Senate, particularly in areas relating to fiscal responsibility, economic reforms, infrastructure development, youth empowerment, and constituency welfare. Before venturing into politics, Dafinone built a distinguished career as a chartered accountant and financial expert, bringing decades of professional experience into legislative service.
General Abugor also commended the senator for maintaining strong ties with grassroots communities across the district. He pointed to several empowerment initiatives, educational support programmes, skills acquisition schemes, and interventions in critical sectors that have positively impacted thousands of constituents.
He particularly praised Senator Dafinone’s commitment to youth inclusion and human capital development, describing him as a leader who understands and responds to the aspirations of young people.
According to Abugor, numerous youths and women have benefited from empowerment programmes, vocational training opportunities, and economic support initiatives facilitated through the senator’s office.
The Niger Delta APC Progressive Movement for Renewed Hope Initiative also applauded Senator Dafinone’s loyalty to the ideals and vision of the All Progressives Congress (APC), as well as his unwavering support for policies aimed at promoting democratic governance, economic growth, and national development.
The group maintained that continuity in leadership would enable the senator to consolidate ongoing projects, deepen his legislative impact, and attract more federal opportunities to Delta Central Senatorial District.
Abugor stressed that the endorsement was not merely a political declaration but a reflection of the collective opinion of party members, community leaders, professionals, youth groups, women organizations, and other stakeholders who have closely monitored the senator’s performance since his election.
“We believe that leadership should be assessed on the basis of performance, accessibility, integrity, and commitment to the people. Senator Ede Dafinone has met and exceeded these standards.
Our movement is therefore united in supporting his second-term aspiration because we are convinced that he still has much more to offer Delta Central and Nigeria as a whole,” he said.
The group also called on APC members across the senatorial district to remain united and focused on strengthening the party’s growing influence in Delta State. It urged constituents to continue supporting leaders who have demonstrated capacity, vision, and dedication to public service.
As political consultations ahead of the 2027 general elections continue to gather momentum, the endorsement by the Niger Delta APC Progressive Movement for Renewed Hope Initiative is expected to further strengthen Senator Dafinone’s political standing within Delta Central.
Political analysts believe that endorsements from influential grassroots organizations and stakeholder groups underscore the growing confidence in the senator’s leadership, legislative productivity, and commitment to the welfare of his constituents.
For many supporters, the message delivered by General John Abugor was clear and unequivocal: Senator Ede Dafinone’s record of service, legislative achievements, and dedication to the development of Delta Central have earned him the trust and confidence required for a second term in the Senate come 2027.
