The immediate past Speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi, has expressed confidence that Senator Ahmed Aliyu Wadada will emerge as the next governor of Nasarawa State in 2027.
Balarabe spoke on Tuesday during a meeting with the Sen. Wadada Youth Ambassadors in Lafia.
He described Wadada as a capable politician with the capacity to drive development in the state.
According to Balarabe, his support for Wadada is rooted in a longstanding personal and political relationship.
“I have a long-time relationship with Sen. Wadada. It is a personal relationship, he is a friend and political associate, therefore his project automatically becomes my project,” he said.
The former Speaker said he had confidence in the political strength of the campaign and pledged to support grassroots mobilisation.
He also cited his electoral record as evidence of his experience in winning elections.
“I contested election in 2015, I won; I contested in 2019, I won; and I contested in 2023, I won. We know how to win elections. We know the strategy and mobilisation,” he said.
Balarabe promised to work towards delivering Umaisha for Wadada while expressing confidence in securing Gadabuke.

He nevertheless admitted that the political situation in Toto town presented challenges that required engagement and dialogue.
He urged the youth ambassadors to remain focused and intensify their grassroots activities.
Earlier, Chairman of the group, Zaidu Aliyu Tanko, said the delegation visited Balarabe to seek his advice and guidance as an experienced political leader.
