…Nursing Mothers Receive Cash Support of 200,000 each as Organisers Dismiss Vote-Buying Claims
The All Progressives Congress Youth Network West Africa (APCYN-WA) has continued its weekly humanitarian outreach in Lagos, providing meals to more than 1,000 vulnerable residents as part of efforts to cushion the effects of prevailing economic challenges.
The food distribution exercise, held on Friday, attracted beneficiaries from different ethnic, religious and political backgrounds, including children, women, elderly persons and other vulnerable groups.

According to the organisers, the outreach is designed to provide food assistance to residents in need while promoting social inclusion and community support.
The Director-General of APCYN-WA, Hon. Olatunde Gideon Igbasan, also extended financial assistance to nursing mothers during the exercise. Three lactating mothers received ₦200,000 each, while several others were given ₦50,000 each to support their welfare.
Many beneficiaries commended the organisation for what they described as a timely intervention, offering prayers for the Director-General and his team for sustaining the weekly programme.
Some recipients also publicly expressed support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general elections.
However, the organisers dismissed claims that the initiative was intended to influence voters, insisting that the programme is purely humanitarian.
They explained that the outreach is organised every Friday and remains open to all Nigerians regardless of political affiliation, religion or ethnic background.
The organisers added that the programme aligns with the objectives of the Federal Government’s Renewed Hope Agenda, particularly its commitment to improving the welfare of vulnerable citizens and ensuring that no Nigerian goes hungry.
