State Director Okpanachi Says Chapter Has Over 80,000 Registered Members
The Kogi State chapter of the CityBoy Movement has reaffirmed its commitment to grassroots mobilisation ahead of the 2027 general elections, announcing a target of one million votes while disclosing that more than 80,000 members have so far been registered.
The disclosure was made during a major Town Hall Meeting organised by the Kogi chapter at the Glass House, Government House, Lokoja.
The meeting, themed “Rise of the New Political Generation,” attracted members and supporters from across the state.
The event was part of a wider programme that included an inspection of the movement’s new State Secretariat, a membership registration exercise and an empowerment programme for beneficiaries from the 21 Local Government Areas.

Speaking at the event, the Director-General of the CityBoy Movement, Hon. Oluwatosin Francis Shoga, commended the Kogi chapter for its mobilisation efforts.
Shoga said the turnout demonstrated the growing organisational structure of the movement in the state.
He also referenced the support recorded from Kogi during the previous election cycle and said the national leadership believed the state remained important to its political mobilisation ahead of 2027.
According to Shoga, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu was interested in the continued mobilisation in Kogi.
He further recalled the chapter’s one-million-vote commitment and said the turnout at the gathering could point to the possibility of exceeding that target.
Shoga also commended State Director Ogah Mark Okpanachi for his efforts in coordinating the chapter.
“Well done. Keep up the good work. Tinubu is watching, and the national leadership of the CityBoy Movement is watching,” he told Okpanachi.
Okpanachi, in his response, expressed appreciation to the national leadership for visiting Kogi and participating in the activities.
He disclosed that the movement currently has more than 80,000 registered members in the state, although some registrations are still awaiting final entry into the central database.
The State Director said the chapter would continue to Inform, Engage, Empower and Mobilize citizens across the 21 Local Government Areas.
He also reiterated the one-million-vote target, saying the Kogi chapter was prepared to continue its grassroots mobilisation.
The national delegation included Deputy Director-General/Coordinator Hon. Favour Abayomi; Deputy Director-General, Operations, Princess Atika Ajanah; Deputy Director, North Central Coordinator, Yahya Sarki; and Director, Community Engagement, Amb. Fatima Yusuf.
Ajanah expressed satisfaction with the activities and pledged continued support for the Kogi chapter.
Yahya Sarki also commended the state leadership and encouraged members to strengthen grassroots engagement.
Representing Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, the Secretary to the Kogi State Government, Dr. Folashade Arike Ayoade, conveyed the Governor’s goodwill to the gathering.
The Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Hajia Fatimah Momoh, represented First Lady Hajia Sefinat Ododo and also conveyed her goodwill.
The gathering ended with the membership registration and empowerment activities, including the distribution of sewing machines and other livelihood-support items to beneficiaries from across Kogi State.
