Ahead of the 2027 general elections, the All Progressives Congress (APC) senatorial candidate for Kogi East, Chief Dr. Joseph Ameh Erico, has engaged key party leaders from across the district in a bid to strengthen internal cohesion and grassroots mobilisation.
The consultation was held at Erico’s residence in Etutekpe, Okpo, with representatives of the APC State Working Committee from Kogi East, divisional party chairmen, youth and women leaders and party secretaries from the nine local government areas in attendance.
The stakeholders reviewed the condition of party structures across the district and discussed challenges affecting members at the grassroots.
They also examined ways of improving communication, coordination and engagement between party leaders and members ahead of the 2027 electoral cycle.
Representatives from various local government areas presented reports on developments within their respective communities and made recommendations aimed at strengthening the APC’s grassroots operations.
The APC Kogi East Zonal Chairman, Hon. Abdul Ogwu Alhassan, said teamwork remained critical to the party’s ability to achieve its objectives.
“Every member has a role to play in building a stronger party,” Alhassan said, urging members to support one another and remain committed to the ideals of the APC.
He also called on party leaders to sustain engagement with members in their localities and keep the party’s structures active ahead of future elections.
Erico, in his remarks, said unity and mutual respect must remain central to the party’s activities.
He said his consultations would continue across the senatorial district, adding that he was prepared to work with established party structures and listen to the concerns of party members.
“We must continue to
see ourselves as one family. The strength of our party lies in our unity and our ability to work together toward a common goal,” he said.
The candidate further urged members to remain committed to grassroots mobilisation and support APC candidates in forthcoming elections.
The meeting ended with party leaders reaffirming their commitment to stronger internal coordination and grassroots engagement as preparations for the 2027 elections gather momentum.
