A mammoth crowd of APC supporters and stakeholders on Monday attended a town hall meeting organised by Senator Sunday Steven Karimi in Lokoja despite reports of an alleged directive restricting some party executives from participating.
The meeting, which focused on accountability and constituency development, attracted party leaders, youths, community representatives and supporters from the Lokoja/Koton Karfe Federal Constituency.
Karimi, who represents Kogi West Senatorial District and is the APC flag bearer for the senatorial district, used the occasion to highlight his legislative interventioppppppns and seek continued support ahead of the 2027 general elections.

An APC ward leader who spoke anonymously alleged that some party officials had received instructions not to attend the meeting.
The source further claimed that some officials who were already at the venue were subsequently asked to leave.
The allegation could not be independently verified at the meeting, but it has become a subject of discussion among some APC members.
‘Why Restrict Party Officials?’
APC chieftain Alhaji Aliyu Ibrahim Garba questioned the alleged restriction.
“I don’t know the aims of these people.
Karimi is like the President; he is the flag bearer of APC in Kogi West Senatorial District. Why are they restricting officials of the party from attending the senator’s town hall meetings?” he asked.
Comrade Taiye Abraham similarly warned that attempts to prevent party members from associating with elected representatives could create unnecessary divisions within the APC.
He said such actions could create disaffection between party members and Karimi’s supporters ahead of future elections.
Baba Ali Calls for Party Unity
APC leader and chieftain, Alhaji Sulaiman Baba Ali, said the town hall meeting was an opportunity for Senator Karimi to account to the people.
Baba Ali urged party members to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and all APC candidates.
He stressed that party loyalty required members to work for all candidates fielded by the APC.
The gathering also witnessed the formal presentation of Senator Karimi to the crowd by Baba Ali.
Stakeholders Commend Senator
Former Kogi State House of Assembly Speaker, Rt. Hon. Abdulrahman Dangana, praised Karimi’s interventions, particularly projects in Kupa.
Hon. Toba Ibrahim, speaking on behalf of Kogi West youths, urged young people to support the senator.
Hon. Maikudi, representing Kogi/Koton Karfe State Constituency, also commended Karimi and cited constituency projects, including an Islamic school in Girinya.
Former Lokoja I State Constituency lawmaker Alhaji Sulaiman Babadoko described Karimi as the best senator Kogi West had produced.
A retired Permanent Secretary, S.A. Muhammed, also expressed support for the senator.
