The leadership of the Kogi City Boy Movement (CBM), led by its Director-General, Hon. Mark Ogah Okpanachi, on Saturday held a strategic meeting with the Kogi State Secretary to the Government (SSG) and Matron of the movement, Dr. Mrs. Ayoade Folashade Arike, to review the organisation’s activities and discuss its roadmap ahead of 2027 political engagements.

The meeting, held at the SSG’s office in Lokoja, focused on expanding grassroots mobilisation across Kogi State, strengthening the movement’s organisational structure, and aligning its programmes with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu while consolidating support for the administration of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo.

Speaking after the meeting, the Director-General of the movement, Hon. Mark Ogah Okpanachi, described the engagement as productive and cordial, saying it reflected a relationship built on trust and mentorship.

According to him, the visit provided an opportunity to assess the progress recorded by the City Boy Movement in Kogi State and fine-tune strategies aimed at increasing grassroots participation and political inclusion.

He disclosed that preparations had reached an advanced stage for the inauguration of the movement’s state executives, local government coordinators, ward leaders and polling unit canvassers across the state.

Okpanachi noted that the inauguration is expected to attract both the North Central Zonal Leadership and the National Leadership of the City Boy Movement.

“We reviewed the steady progress of the City Boy Movement in Kogi State and mapped out practical steps towards our forthcoming all-inclusive inauguration.

“Our discussions centred on strengthening grassroots mobilisation across the 21 local government areas and recalibrating our structures at the ward and polling unit levels for greater efficiency and impact,” he said.

The Director-General expressed confidence that the continued guidance of the movement’s matron, alongside the commitment of members, would further strengthen the organisation’s role in promoting democratic participation and good governance across the state.

Responding, Dr. Folashade Arike welcomed the delegation and commended the leadership of the City Boy Movement for its commitment to grassroots mobilisation, political participation and youth inclusion.

She thanked members of the organisation for finding her worthy to serve as the movement’s Matron and pledged her continued support towards achieving its objectives.

The SSG reaffirmed the commitment of the Kogi State Government to supporting initiatives that promote civic engagement and responsible political participation.

She also highlighted the achievements of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo’s administration, citing ongoing investments in infrastructure, healthcare, education, civil service reforms and other critical sectors of the state’s economy.

According to her, the administration’s development projects have continued to strengthen public confidence and improve service delivery across Kogi State.

She further expressed optimism that the performance of both the Federal Government under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Kogi State Government would consolidate public support in the build-up to the 2027 general elections.

Our Correspondent reports that the meeting forms part of ongoing consultations by political support groups aimed at strengthening grassroots mobilisation and promoting the ideals of the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the next electoral cycle.
