Kogi City Boy Movement Celebrates State Coordinator Jerry Olayemi on Birthday, Mourns Loss of Three Family Members

The Kogi State chapter of the City Boy Movement has celebrated its State Coordinator, Hon. Jerry Olayemi, on the occasion of his birthday, while also expressing deep sympathy over the tragic loss of three of his family members in a gas explosion.

The heartfelt celebration and condolence were led by the Director General of the Kogi City Boy Movement, Chief Ogah Mark Okpanachi, during the movement’s strategic interactive session and inauguration of newly elected State and Local Government executives held on Sunday at AKK Hotel, Lokoja.

Speaking on behalf of the movement, Chief Okpanachi described Hon. Olayemi as a committed, loyal and selfless leader whose dedication has continued to strengthen the City Boy Movement across Kogi State.

He prayed for God’s continued protection, wisdom and guidance upon the State Coordinator, urging him to remain steadfast in his service to humanity and the progress of the movement.

The Director General noted that although the breached of protocol was organised primarily to celebrate Olayemi’s birthday and inaugurate new executives, the atmosphere became emotional after he was informed that the celebrant had lost three family members in a devastating gas explosion.

In honour of the deceased, Chief Okpanachi immediately called for a one-minute silence, during which members paid their last respects and offered prayers for the peaceful repose of the departed souls.

Responding, an emotional Hon. Jerry Olayemi disclosed that the tragic incident had left him deeply devastated, describing the loss as one of the most painful moments of his life.

Despite the personal grief, he appreciated the Director General and members of the movement for their compassion, prayers and solidarity during the difficult period.

Olayemi reaffirmed his commitment to the ideals of the City Boy Movement, pledging his continued loyalty and unwavering support to the leadership in advancing the movement’s objectives across Kogi State.

The event featured strategic discussions on strengthening the movement ahead of future political engagements, alongside the formal inauguration of State and Local Government executives, who pledged to work collectively towards expanding the movement’s grassroots presence.

The birthday celebration concluded with prayers for the celebrant’s good health, long life and divine strength as members wished him many more years of impactful leadership and service.
