The Special Assistant to Governor Umo Eno on New Media, Venerable Richard Peters, has presented what he described as the administration’s remarkable achievements, insisting that the ARISE Agenda has transformed critical sectors of Akwa Ibom State within a short period.

He credited the administration’s success to prudent financial management, improved revenue and effective collaboration with the Federal Government under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Senate President Godswill Akpabio.
According to Peters, agriculture remains one of the administration’s biggest priorities with the launch of the Oil Palm Tree Crop Revolution and the establishment of an Agricultural Equipment Leasing Company to support farmers.
He noted that over N2 billion has been invested in agricultural grants, while Ibom Model Farm and local government farms are helping to improve food production.
Peters disclosed that Governor Eno also approved N7.3 billion for women cooperatives across all 369 wards and facilitated solar-powered boreholes to improve access to potable water.
He said the government has recorded significant progress in road construction with over 1,300 kilometres of roads and nearly 40 bridges either completed or under construction.
According to him, modern healthcare centres, schools and markets are also being delivered across the state.
On education, Peters said free basic education continues across Akwa Ibom, while tertiary students receive bursaries and educational grants.
He added that the administration upgraded the College of Education, Afaha Nsit into a University of Education and recruited 1,000 teachers.
He also highlighted the construction of modern secondary schools with digital learning facilities.

Peters further praised investments in healthcare, including recruitment of over 2,854 medical personnel, expansion of the State Health Insurance Scheme and construction of the 350-bed Ibom International Hospital.
The media aide said tourism and aviation have also witnessed significant transformation through investments in ARISE Palm Resort, Ibom Hotels, Shopping City Centre and Ibom Air.
He revealed that Ibom Air now operates international flights while preparations continue for the arrival of an Airbus A220-300 aircraft.
Peters added that the administration has paid over N83 billion in gratuities, empowered youths through business grants and entrepreneurship programmes, and expanded housing projects across the state.
He maintained that the ARISE Agenda has continued to improve the quality of life of residents while positioning Akwa Ibom among Nigeria’s fastest-growing economies.
